What makes a good life?

In the TED talk "What Makes a Good Life?" a Harvard study has been conducted over the span of 75 years. Waldinger begins by challenging the common societal belief that wealth, fame, and career success are the keys to happiness. he firmly believes that to achieve true happiness we need to assess the quality of our relationships with the ones we love. The study demonstrates that individuals with strong and supportive relationships tend to lead happier and healthier lives. the study emphasizes that the quality of relationships matters more than the number and quantity of the connection it self. he dictates that even with a large number of friends or followers on social media people may lose their sense of purpose in life whereas he recommends having a few deep connections with trusted individuals. the study reveals that those who feel connected and supported by their connections experience a greater level of happiness and acknowledge their sense of purpose.

Waldinger talks about the effects of loneliness and social isolation on people's physical and mental health. the study indicates that those who feel lonely and lack social outings tend to have a poor mental state and weak physique. this strong evidence highlights the importance of investing in relationships because it strengthens your emotions. Waldinger shows the significance of emotional intelligence and choosing carefully who you get attached to. the study shows that individuals who feel secure and connected in their relationships tend to have good physical health and experience life and its beauty of it.

Personly, I think every society needs to adopt a concept the Scandinavians have been utilizing for multiple years now their powerful relationships can be observed in communities that prioritize social cohesion and collective well-being. In countries like Denmark and Finland, known for their high levels of happiness, a strong sense of community and social support networks play a vital role. These societies prioritize social welfare, and equal opportunities, and emphasize the importance of relationships between one another. As a result these communities often experience higher levels of life satisfaction and overall happiness.

In today's modern world, it is crucial to strike a balance between virtual interactions and physical connections. While social media platforms provide prominent ways for staying connected with loved ones it is very essential to prioritize quality over quantity. Actively nurturing and investing in deep, meaningful relationships both offline and online can lead to greater happiness and a sense of fulfillment. I would recommend to people who have the excuse that what will they do when their nothing in common but they are their family. Accordingly, you find a bonding activity that you would adapt in the future to be your activity to go to when you meet.
